Do you need a video?

Do I Really Need a Video?

Whether you have a product to sell, a service to promote, or a cause to champion, this question should be the very first thing you ask yourself when considering how to market your idea.

The truth is, sometimes you don’t need a video to share your message. Some ideas are best shared via print, social media, or maybe even just word of mouth.  So how do you know when a video would be most effective?

There are a number of reasons to create a video. Below, we have listed 4 reasons to consider making a video.

1. To raise awareness.

2.     Sell a product or service

3. To Raise Money

4. Emotional Response

Think back on television commercials that you still remember, some perhaps even years later.  Why have they stuck with you all this time? Most likely they caused you to feel something. You laughed, you watched in horror, maybe you even cried. But you felt something.

An effective video presentation is a combination of many things - a creative idea, an interesting script, a well-designed set, solid actors, quality graphics, and appropriate music or background noise, just to name a few.

Each of these things works together to convey an idea in an interesting, yet professional, manner; and ultimately, inspire the viewers to buy into whatever is being promoted.

With that in mind, consider your project.

Would your potential customers or clients be more likely to purchase your product or support your cause if they were encouraged by a well-designed and well-executed visual presentation?

If the answer to this question is yes, then you really do need a video.  It’s as simple as that.
